Basic macaroni salad

My go to macaroni salad, if you just keep to the main recipe you can add what ever you like so the salad suit your taste. Great for any type of meat or poultry

  • 2 cup dry elbow macaroni, cooked, rinsed, and drained
  • 1⁄ 4 cup red onion, minced, soaked in cold water for 5 minutes, drained
  • 1 tablespoon pickled jalapeño (optional) , finely diced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, diced
  • 1⁄ 2 cup vine-ripened tomato, diced
  • 1⁄ 2 cup prepared mayonnaise
  • 3⁄ 4 teaspoons mustard powder
  • 1 1⁄2 tsp sugar
  • 1 1⁄2 tbsp cider vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1⁄ 2 teaspoon kosher salt, plus more to taste
  • 1 black pepper, freshly ground
1) Cook macaroni according to package - set aside to cool
2) Mean while dice and slice veggies , red onion , jalapeño , yellow bell pepper and tomatoes
3) In a bowl wish together Mayonnaise, mustard powder, sugar , cider vinegar, sour cream salt and black pepper.
4 ) Transfere macaroni to a serving bowl , add veggies and mayo mix and toss well until everything is covered.
