StewedCabbageCream
Side dish tonight, December 13, 2014
I served as a side dish to Stove top coated baked pork chops, and it was absolute delicious !
6 Servings

  • 1 1⁄2 kg Cabbage
  • 1 liter Water
  • 1 tsk coarse salt
  • 25 g butter
  • 4 dl whipping cream
  • 1 dl milk
  • 1 1⁄2 tsk coarse salt
  • Black pepper , grounded

1) Remove the coarsest leaves from the cabbage, Cut the cabbage into large pieces and place it boiling salted water. Boil cabbage with the lid on for about 12 min.

2) Let it drain in a sieve, Wrap the cooled cabbage in a tea towel and squeeze to drain all free from water.

3) Chop the cabbage finely with a knife.

4) Add butter, cream and milk in a saucepan and bring to a boil while stirring.

5) Add Cabbage salt and pepper, Bring mixture to a boil again, still stirring, season to taste (* used a bit of grounded nutmeg )
