aHousewifes Asian red cabbage salad

Absolutely delicious side dish for any asian dish .
4 servings
  • ½ red cabbage, sliced and roughly diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 chunck ginger, fresh , finely chopped
  • 3 tsp sugar
  • 4 tsp rice wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 2 tsp fish sauce
  • 4 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tsp sambal Oelek (ground fresh chile paste)
  • 2 tsp sesame seed, toasted

1) Slice and dice the red cabbage and set aside

Chop ginger and garlic finely ( you can use a food processor ) , transfere to a bowl. Add sugar and rice wine vinegar, and stir til sugar is dissolved.

Add to the garlic/garlic the soy sauce, fish sauce sesame oil and chili, whisk to combine . Add the red cabbage and toss til cabbage is well covered.

Cover and let it chill in the fridge for at least an hour .

Before serving toss in toasted sesame seeds
